JOB SUMMARY
As aLogistics Transportation Management Trainee, the individual will undergo a comprehensive training program to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in logistics and transportation management. The individual will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the industry, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Assigned Tasks and Rotations:
Data Analysis:
- Collect trailer inspection reports from 2 Distribution Centers.
- Organize and file inspection reports.
- Review camera footage for equipment damage.
- Utilize various company programs to identify the party responsible for equipment damage.
- Track all damage to company equipment from first report all the way through to invoicing.
- Collaborate with 3PL partners for investigations.
- Travel will be necessary from DC to DC for collection of paperwork and camera footage review.
- Prepare reports that pertain to equipment damage.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse personnel, to optimize transportation systems and processes.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Gaining Knowledge: The individual will gain insights into the company's operations and product lines.
Handling Disputes: The individual will learn how to handle disputes effectively and contribute to conflict resolution.
Participating in Meetings and Workshops: Attending meetings and workshops will help the individual stay informed about company policies, strategies, and industry trends.
Traveling: Some company sponsored travel will be required to enhance training and knowledge base of operations. Probable relocation will be needed at conclusion of training to a regional or domestic location based on skill set and availability.
Suggesting Improvements: The individual will actively contribute ideas for process improvement and operational efficiency.
Hands-On Experience:
Shadowing Management: The individual will work closely with experienced managers to understand the intricacies of logistics management.
Dispatch and Scheduling: The individual will learn about dispatch operations, pricing, and scheduling vehicle maintenance.

Transportation Management Trainee Requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree inBusiness Administration,Transportation,Distribution, or related fields (military experience with an NCO rank is also preferred).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and tools.
- Exceptional math and Microsoft Excel aptitude
