The Transportation Manager (DOT) is responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of DOT transportation operations including CDL A, B & C driver supervision, federal, state and local lawful operating compliance, equipment maintenance and operational safety and compliance. This position will ensure adherence to all quality assurance programs, develops leadership skills in self and direct report team, while creating a safe working environment.

Pay Range: 90000.00-110000.00 per_year, General Benefits: Benefits
Essential Functions:
- Effectively manage the relationship with the customer through excellence in written and verbal communication.
- Manage and develop transportation team, conduct timely performance reviews, manage performance issues.
- Manage and coordinate overall DOT transportation activities.
- Manage Class A, B & C fleet and equipment repair, regular maintenance and repair through the service provider.
- Execute administrative duties, including but not limited to payroll and billing.
- Coordinate driver's schedules and routes.
- Actively work towards improving productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure all deliveries are made according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure transportation operations are in compliance with all lawful and company safety requirements/policies.
- Confirm all drivers are in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations (Drug and Alcohol Policy, hours of service, etc)
- Interact with and assist other departments to accomplish efficient and timely delivery.
- Investigate damages, accidents and other transportation related issues.
- Maintain accurate and complete departmental records.
- Other duties as assigned.

Transportation Manager (DOT) Requirements
- Four year college degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of transportation, supply chain or logistics experience working with CDL A, B & C drivers.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to coach and develop associates into an effective, highly motivated, results oriented team.
- Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
- Working knowledge of onboard computer systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSR/DOT regulations and OSHA rules.
- Ability to develop and execute budgetary items for department.
- General accounting and/or payroll experience required.
- Basic skill with Windows based computer systems required.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate multiple solutions to make sound decisions.
- Effective interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and influence for positive outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and thrive in a fast paced union environment.
- An innovative, goal-oriented and results driven approach.
