Essential Functions:
- Perform complex diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, order pickers, and other MHE (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems).
- Troubleshoot difficult equipment issues and provide technical direction on repair methods, parts, and safety for the team.
- Verify quality of repairs through testing and inspection, ensuring equipment meets manufacturer specs and OSHA/PIE safety requirements before return to service.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records in the CMMS or maintenance system, and support planning of PM schedules and parts needs.
- Lead / coordination responsibilities
- Act as working lead for mechanics and technicians: assign daily/weekly work orders, set priorities, and monitor progress to minimize equipment downtime.
- Train and mentor junior mechanics, including onboarding, coaching on diagnostic techniques, safe work practices, and documentation standards.
- Review, verify, and spot'check completed work for quality, safety, and adherence to procedures; provide feedback and corrective guidance as needed.
- Coordinate with operations, warehouse, and management to schedule maintenance, plan around production needs, and communicate equipment status.
- Assist with managing parts inventory: identify needs, order or request parts and supplies, and help control maintenance costs.
- Promote and enforce shop safety, housekeeping, and proper use of tools and PPE; help develop and implement maintenance and safety procedures.

Working Foreman/Lead Mechanic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in automotive, diesel, or industrial maintenance preferred
- At least 4+ yearsof journeyman'level experience maintaining forklifts/MHE, automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment
- Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and parts diagrams
- Prior experience providing informal leadership, training, or coordination of other mechanics or technicians
- Strong safety mindset and knowledge of OSHA requirements for powered industrial trucks and shop operations
- Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance staff, supervisors, and operations teams and to maintain detailed maintenance records
